Pet feed extruderA pet food extruder is a core piece of equipment in pet food production. Through high-temperature and high-pressure processes, it transforms various raw materials into nutritious, easily digestible, and highly palatable extruded feed for pets. The production process is generally as follows: 1. Pretreatment and Conditioning: First, the raw materials (such as grains, legumes, meat by-products, and vitamin and mineral additives) are pulverized and mixed. Then, they pass through a conditioner, where steam and water are added to bring the moisture content to 25%-30%. This increases the temperature and initiates starch gelatinization, preparing the material for extrusion. 2. Extrusion: The tempered material is fed into the extrusion chamber. Here, the screw pushes the material through extremely high pressure (compression ratios of up to 4-10) and high temperature (either through steam heating in the barrel jacket or frictional heating). This process thoroughly gelatinizes starch, denatures proteins, and eliminates harmful microorganisms. 3. Extrusion and Cutting: When the high-temperature, high-pressure material is suddenly extruded from the die into a normal-pressure environment, the pressure drops dramatically, instantly evaporating the internal moisture and rapidly expanding the material into a porous structure. Then, a high-speed rotating cutter cuts it into the required length.

Barrel: The outer layer is typically jacketed with a heating/cooling jacket, allowing for precise temperature control in different zones.1 The inner wall is smooth and wear-resistant, reducing drag and preventing material residue.3. Die and Cutting Device: Die (die plate): Determines the final shape and size of the product (e.g., round, bone, or fish). By replacing the die, different product shapes can be produced. Cutter: An independent, high-speed rotating cutter with adjustable speed controls pellet length and ensures uniformity. 4. Control system: Equipped with an intelligent control system, it can accurately set and control parameters such as feeding speed, screw speed, temperature of each section, cutting speed, etc., and has real-time monitoring and fault alarm functions to ensure production stability and product quality.
